Lee Miller The Angel and the Fiend

By Antony Penrose

The life and work of Lee Miller, fashion model, surrealist muse, artist, combat photographer, and gourmet cook, are brought to life in this dramatized reading for five voices starring Lee Miller’s own grand-niece Erika C. Miller.

Please Note: This production contains some war images that may be deeply disturbing to some audience members. It is hoped that viewers will see them in the way Lee Miller intended – as harsh reminders of the need to maintain the highest human values.

This production will premere at The Getty center in Los Angeles from April 4 – 6, 2003. The performances will complement the exhibition Surrealist Muse: Lee Miller, Roland Penrose, and Man Ray, currrently on view in the Museum’s west Paviliion through June 15, 2003. The production will then move to Chance Theater and play April 26 – May 18, 23003.
