Darryl B. Hovis is a director, designer, and actor from Southern California. He earned his M.A. in Theatre Production at Central Washington University and studied acting at the Professional Conservatory at UCSD as well as South Coast Repertory. As a Resident Artist with Chance Theater, he serves as Director of Teens Speak-Up and TYA Producing Associate. He also serves on the faculty in the Theater Arts Department at Azusa Pacific University. TYA productions include Alice In Wonderland, The Legend(s) Of Sleepy Hollow, The Boy At The Edge Of Everything, A Wrinkle In Time, and James And The Giant Peach. Other directing credits include The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time, Therese Raquin, The Angelina Project, A History Of The American Film, Rent, The Threepenny Opera, Machinal, The Crucible, Lost Girl, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Peter And The Starcatcher, Our Town, Big Fish, Treehouses, and She Kills Monsters. Sound design credits include The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time, In A Word, Yellowman, James And The Giant Peach, and Lost Girl, to name a few.
