This month, The Anaheim Arts Council recognized community businesses for their public pieces that have aided in the beautification of the city. Chance founding artist, Anaheim Arts Council Board Member and Awards Chairwoman, Erika Miller, and her committee visited 14 nominees throughout Anaheim and selected five for the special honor of the 2017 Art In Public Places awards.
“Congratulations to the winners, who have improved the aesthetics of our city with murals, fountains, landscaping and other visual arts that beautify offices and environments for the enjoyment of the community.”
“Honorees were: Ponderosa Skate Park’s mosaic; Ball Junior High’s “STEAM” mural; Anaheim GardenWalk’s “Kate and Ella” bronze statues; Citrus City Park’s mural restoration; and the Downtown Community Center’s Center Gallery.”
