The Ovation Awards have just announced their nominations and our West Coast premiere production of Lysistrata Jones was nominated for Best Choreography (resident artist Kelly Todd) and BEST MUSICAL! Congratulations to the entire cast and production team. We’re so happy that your hard work and talent has been recognized.
The Ovation Awards are the only peer-judged theatre awards in Los Angeles, created to recognize excellence in theatrical performance, production and design in the Greater Los Angeles area. In the past, Chance Theater has received 27 nominations, winning five (Best Musical – Jerry Springer: The Opera, Best Musical – Triassic Parq – The Musical, Best Featured Actress in a Musical – Kellie Spill, Triassic Parq, Best Music Direction – Taylor Stephenson, Triassic Parq, and and Ovation Honors Award for Projection Design – KC Wilkerson, The Who’s Tommy.
The Ovation Awards will be on November 2 at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse.
Congratulations to all our fellow artists who also had their work recognized tonight. We’re very proud to be part of such a rich theater community.
