Technical Production Internship

Description:

Technical Production Intern reports directly to the Technical Director (TD) while also working closely with the current stage managers and designers. Intern has the opportunity to engage in the process of building a show from start to finish in multiple technical areas.

You Will Learn:

  • Making Theater happen on Budget
  • How to Read Scenic Draftings and Groundplans
  • Hands-On Scenic Building Experience
  • Proper Set Construction, Load-In & Strike Safety Principles
  • How to Budget and Troubleshoot Scenic Designs
  • Proper Organization & Maintenance of Props, Costumes & Backstage Areas

Duties May Include but Not Limited To:

  • Providing Assistance for Tech Prep, Preview Set-Up, Maintenance
  • Help with Strikes and Load-Ins
  • Assist with Builds, Light Hang and Focus, and Audio Load-in
  • Assist with Repairs to Maintain Current Shows
  • Assist Designers during Load-In and Previews
  • Maintain Technical Facilities on a regular basis

Specific Requirements:

  • Theater Major or Minor
  • Ability to Multi-Task and Prioritize
  • Must be able to lift and move 40 lbs
