“ Exquisitely self-contained ”

New York Times

THE CHERRY ORCHARD tells the story of Liubov, a Russian heiress who has just returned to her home from France.  Little seems to have changed when Liubov returns to her ancestral estate in Russia in 1903. The trees in the cherry orchard are in romantic bloom and the manor is full of memory. Reality, however, is looming: the family fortune has been squandered.  Holding out for a miracle to save their home, the household strives against time as it sweeps past and hopes become as empty as the leafless trees in the orchard.
