Mary Marie, a new musical On The Radar
The really, truly, musical story of a girl… or two
Just before the 1920’s start to roar, 13-year-old Mary Marie is bright, free-spirited, and surprisingly philosophical about her parents’ divorce. So much so that she not only looks forward to observing and writing about the various other romances they can have now that they are no longer together, but to the exciting life she is bound to have as a result of it. In time, she discovers that though it’s thrilling to be free-spirited “Marie” while living with Mother in Boston, having to conform to boring “Mary” while living with Father and domineering Aunt Jane back in Andersonville is another story, and since neither parent is providing any new romances to write about, the experience is nothing like she had anticipated. Through the process though, Mary Marie discovers much more about herself and her parents, and unknowingly enables them to discover much more about themselves as well.
