Production Management Internship
Description:
Production Management Intern reports directly to the Production Manager (PM) while also working closely with the current stage managers and theater staff. Intern has the opportunity to engage in the process of Production Management from start (Concept Meeting) to finish (Strike).
You Will Learn:
- Making Theatre happen on Budget!
- The Casting Process – From Scheduling and Assisting with Auditions to Database Maintenance
- Load-in and Tech Week Management
- Calendar Management
- Proper Organization & Maintenance of Props, Costumes & Backstage Areas
- Shadow Contract Writing
- Supply Inventory & Ordering
- Basic Associated Administrative Skills
Duties May Include but Not Limited To:
- Participate in Local Casting, Help Run Auditions, Maintain Casting Database
- Providing back-up to Production Manager for Tech Prep, Preview Set-Up, Maintenance
- Observing and Notetaking for Production Meetings
- Assisting with Contracting and Budget Tracking
- Provide Clerical Support through Data Entry, Research, Copying, Scanning, and Organizing Materials
- Clerical tasks such as copying, scanning, and organizing materials
Specific Requirements:
- Strong Interest and Background in Live Theater
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Comfortable engaging via phone and in person with artists and community members
- Intermediate to Advanced Computer Competence (Word Processing, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, etc.)
- Ability to Multi-Task and Prioritize
- Strong Organizational Skills
- Must be able to lift and move 40 lbs
