Meet Matt Takahashi (Ensemble)
What’s your favorite way to communicate your feelings to a loved one?
As much of a technology buff as I am, without a doubt it would have to be face to face. There is nothing like seeing the reactions and emotions on a loved ones face as they process information. It is a very unique and beautiful experience.
Have you ever had a work-related romance? If so… how’d it go?
I met Laura Hathaway when we trained at Disneyland together…I’m still stuck with her…

I’m Matt Takahashi…seriously, you need more than that?!
Tell us about something that happened on a blind/first date.
When I was in college, one of the first dates I had with my girlfriend at the time was on Halloween and we decided to go West Hollywood. That was quite an interesting experience. Very fun night, but still very odd for a first date.
What’s the biggest challenge for you in this production?
The biggest challenge for me is portraying the Waiter with honesty. He is a very funny, outlandish character, but he is also a real person. It’s easy to fall into the trap of going for the laugh and playing cartoony. He has to be zany, but sincere.
What was your first job in theater?
My first job in theater was a show called “Murder on the High C’s.” It was a very funny show in which I played a French spy who was masquerading (not very well) as a cowboy for his disguise…I’m sensing a trend here with the roles that I get cast in.
Tell us something most people don’t know about you.
A lot of people don’t know that I was a contestant on “The Price is Right.” It was Drew Carey’s first year hosting and I decided one day to ditch class, borrow my roommate’s car, and try to get on the show by myself. If you want to find out what happens, you can find the clips on Youtube. Enjoy!
