You play multiple characters in multiple historical eras. If you could choose a specific time in history to be born, when would you choose?
Definitely not Elizabethan England. I like to bathe. I was born in the 50’s and all that that time period embodies… from an idyllic suburban childhood thru Vietnam era USA thru the current technological revolution. It’s been a wild ride. I’ll stay here.  🙂

Should Christians or non-Christians come see this play?
Both. It’s not about religion. Sarah Ruhl admits to struggling with the title. And rightly so. It’s a bit misleading.

This play shifts from funny to emotional to funny again on a dime. How do you make those shifts?
Those shifts are exactly what make the actor’s experience so rich.

This play explores how you are perceived based on your looks versus who you really are. Can you personally relate to this theme?
The older I get, the more I relate. I sometimes feel invisible. This rarely happened until I hit 50.

Do you have a favorite moment in the play?
Alex Bueno’s Violet as a 3 year old, greeting her daddy as her returns from War.

What’s the biggest challenge for you in this production?
Hitler, Reagan, and the Queen. ‘Nuff said.

How do you prepare to work on a project like this?
Research, research, research. And then using that as a base for the real work of discovering these characters as they are written in this particular piece.
