Seeking:
We are seeking talented actors of all ethnicities over 18, with a particular focus on those who play an instrument, as many roles in this production require musical performance.
Spring Awakening is a powerful coming-of-age story that explores complex themes including repressed teen sexuality, consent, teenage pregnancy, sexual orientation, abuse, abortion, mental health, and suicide. The production blends the historical setting of 1890s Germany with contemporary elements, offering a timeless look at the challenges of adolescence.
Actors cast in this production should expect their characters to navigate, be in close proximity to, and/or participate in scenes that depict raw and honest portrayals of teen sexuality, physical and emotional intimacy, domestic and sexual violence, explicit language, partial nudity, simulated masturbation and sexual acts, and simulated suicide. Below are more specifics regarding each character.
All such scenes will be thoughtfully and safely staged under the guidance of an experienced intimacy and fight director.
We encourage you to carefully consider the mature nature of the material before deciding to audition.
