ÒFancy NancyÓ is getting a little fancier. The HarperCollins Children Book
entered into a deal with Disney Junior on Friday. The network will create
an animated series adaption and merchandise for ÒFancy Nancy.Ó The series
is expected to air in 2017.
ÒFancy NancyÓ is about a little girl who likes to be fancy. The more than
60 books have sold 28 million copies. ÒFancy NancyÓ was created by Jane
OÕConnor and Orange CountyÕs very own Robin Priess Glasser.
OÕConnor writes the books and Priess Glasser illustrates them.
The series in its tenth year and has been translated into 20 languages.
“Children have been captivated by Fancy Nancy’s wit and irrepressible
spirit for a decade and we are very eager to give her an even bigger stage
on which to perform,” Nancy Kanter, executive vice president of original
programming and general manager of Disney Junior Worldwide, said in a
statement.
