This class is perfect for preparing for job interviews as well as acting auditions. Students will learn how to present themselves, calm their nerves, select a monologue, and build a resume.
For over a decade, the Chance has worked with local teens to “speak up” about their lives and experiences through an original production. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, hundreds of students have participated in this program free of charge. With the additional support from the Boy & Girls Club of Anaheim, many students had access to free bus rides to and from workshop, rehearsals and performances.Through story circles, improv games, and writing exercises, students will learn the fundamentals of storytelling and have a ton of fun. Over five weeks, they will work collaboratively with their peers from all over the county to write, design, and perform a new play!
This class will focus primarily on scene study and script analysis for the actor. Students will learn techniques to build and explore characters, tackle emotional content, movement and blocking, all while building our actor toolbox and vocabulary.
