Development and Fundraising Internship
Description:
Development and Fundraising Intern reports directly to the Development Director (DD). Intern has the opportunity to learn about the various areas of fundraising in a nonprofit setting, including but not limited to individual gifts, foundation grants, corporate giving, and special events.
You Will Learn:
- The Life of a Donation – from Receipt to Acknowledgement
- Patron Development
- Special Event Planning and Coordination
- Shadow Grant Writing
- Basic Administrative Skills
Duties May Include but Not Limited To:
- Ticket sales, subscription and donation processing
- Clerical tasks such as copying, scanning, and organizing materials
- Assist at Chance Theater special events and fundraisers
- Assist in reaching out to local businesses for partnerships and fundraising opportunities
- Preparing acknowledgement & thank you letters (mail merge & hand written)
- Research on corporate, foundation, and individual donor prospects
- Brainstorm subscription promotion possibilities
Specific Requirements:
- Attention to Detail
- Fundraising Experience a Plus
- Good Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Computer Competence (Word Processing, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, etc.)
- Ability to Multi-Task and Prioritize
- Ability to Collaborate, Analyze and Problem-Solve
- Strong Organizational Skills
