Born in Arlington, Texas, Sam Bullington is the oldest child of Paul Bullington, a truck parts salesman, and Lisa Bullington, an English teacher. In 2016, Sam studied acting for 3 semesters at the University of Texas at Arlington, his mother’s Alma mater. There, with the help of the film department head Ya’ke Smith, he met his agent, who encouraged Sam to leave school and move to Los Angeles the following year. He also received great advice about the business from his first acting teacher Detra Payne. In 2017, Sam co-starred in an episode of Hap & Leonard opposite Michael K. Williams and James Purefoy – his first television appearance. In 2019, Sam continued studying at the Lee Strasberg Institute in West Hollywood, where he performed in the one-man show: Killer’s Head by Sam Shepard directed by Paul Rush. There, he met another great teacher in Alani iLongwe, who coached him for upcoming roles, including his award-winning performance in Hamish Linklater’s The Vandal directed by Kari Hayter at Chance Theater, and his first series regular role in the award-winning Snap original Two Sides directed by Hannah Lehmann.
