Artist Profile
Nico Pang (they/he) is a Cantonese storyteller, director, and writer. Recent directing credits include Passion of the Cut Sleeve (Joy Who Lived Festival), Tales of the Transcestors: The Divine (Celebration Theatre), and Assistant Director to Khanisha Foster for A New Brain (Celebration Theatre). Nico also works as a gender consultant and facilitator, supporting organizations and artists in bringing queer and trans narratives to life with authenticity and nuance. Nico’s plays, exploring diasporic belonging, ancestral memory, and queerness as possibility, include Moonbow (Hantext Festival at East West Players) and My Body Is a Season (SpeakEasy Stage). Nico is currently developing a new full-length play in IAMA Theatre’s 2024-2025 Emerging Playwrights Lab.
