Artist Profile

Kate has designed productions for The Pasadena Playhouse including Art, South Street, Amahl and the Night Visitors, Under My Skin and most recently Sleepless in Seattle. For Reprise, Kate’s designs were seen in Cabaret, for which she received a Backstage Garland Award for Best Costume Design, Gigi, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Fantasticks, They’re Playing Our Song, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. She designed Next Fall and Yes, Prime Minister at The Geffen Playhouse and worked on the award-winning production of Prisoner of Second Avenue at The El Portal Theater. She received an Ovation Nomination for her work on “Shrek, The Musical” for 3D Theatricals and has been named Costume Designer of the Year two years in a row.   Most recently, she costumed Leslie Caron in Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks at the Laguna Playhouse and was part of SciFest 2014, designing 11 one-act science fiction plays.

She has worked in many venues – film, commercials, videos, print advertising, but designing for the stage is Kate’s first love.
