James Michael McHale is an actor, director, and musician. He’s also proud to be a Resident Artist and the Literary Manager at Chance Theater. His acting credits include appearing in over 200 performances of the musical Once at Lamb’s Players Theater, CCAE Theatricals, and Laguna Playhouse, playing Buzz Aldrin in the World Premiere and National Tour of Apollo 11 for Troika Entertainment, playing Hamlet in Hamlet and Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead in rep at American Coast Theater Co, and John Dodge in Middletown at Chance Theater (StageSceneLA Award, Outstanding Performance in a Leading Role). Film and TV credits include the upcoming WWII feature film Black Panthers and a recurring role in the upcoming season of For All Mankind on AppleTV. His directing work includes Sweeney Todd (Orange Curtain Review Award for Best Musical) and American Idiot (Orange County Theatre Guild Award for Best Direction of a Musical) both at Chance Theater in Anaheim, and writing/directing storytelling concerts for Pacific Symphony at Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
