Artist Profile
Casey is thrilled to be assisting Kari Hayter on this production of West Side Story. She recently received her BA in Theatre Studies from Chapman University, where she assisted Kari on Dracula. At Chapman, Casey directed Heathers, The Room Full of Annie, Doubt, and most recently, Green Day’s American Idiot. As the former president of student organization Chapman on Broadway, she produced Next to Normal, Dogfight, and I Could Use a Drink. Casey is excited to return to the Chance after dramaturging The Other Place last fall. Her additional dramaturgy credits include Cabaret, Picnic, and She Kills Monsters (Chapman University). She has interned at La Jolla Playhouse in the Education & Outreach department. Most recently, Casey interned as a production assistant on the initial reading of Prelude to a Kiss, the musical adaptation (South Coast Repertory’s Pacific Playwrights Festival).
