VIRTUAL STAGED PERFORMANCE

Next up in our 23rd Anniversary Season is the Orange County premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, Sweat. Filled with warm humor and tremendous heart, this acclaimed play tells the story of a group of friends who have spent their lives sharing drinks, secrets, and laughs while working together on the factory floor. But when layoffs and picket lines begin to chip away at their trust, the friends find themselves pitted against each other in a heart-wrenching fight to stay true to themselves and each other.

Please note: This show contains mature language and themes.

“Proves itself to be a play that offers plenty of food for thought on work, relationships, and the seemingly elusive American Dream… Sweat is a thought-provoking piece and one that serves as a cautionary tale of what happens when hope curdles into anger and entitlement.”Broadway World

Sweat is perhaps the most compelling and controversial stagings audiences in Southern California are likely to witness in this or any other season of theater.”ShowMag.com

“Directing for Chance Theater (in association with Morgan-Wixson Theater) with her accustomed precision and flair, Elina de Santos elicits exciting performances from an all-around terrific cast, each of whom so vanishes into his or her role that it’s easy to forget you’re watching stage pros and not bona fide factory workers flown in to Anaheim to reenact their blue-collar lives.” StageSceneLA

“From first moments to last, this compassionate but clear-eyed play throbs with heartfelt life, with characters as complicated as any you’ll encounter from any theater, and with a nifty ticking time bomb of a plot.”The Show Report
