Susan Bowman is a consultant working in the areas of leadership assessment and coaching, organization culture and Human Resources effectiveness. Through her company, Leadership Connections, she provides these services to a variety of public, private and non-profit organizations.
She was formerly the senior vice president of human resources at Emulex which is now part of Broadcom Limited, based in Irvine, California. In this role, she was part of the senior executive team responsible for all aspects of Human Resources including HR strategy, talent and performance management, leadership development and senior team effectiveness. She was previously senior vice president of human resources at 3Com Corporation, now part of HP, and executive vice president of human resources at Genuity, Inc., which was an internet services unit in Verizon.
Susan lives in Laguna Beach and works with several non-profits in Orange County. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the South Coast Repertory, where she leads the Education and Outreach Committee, a member of the Board of Directors for the Chance Theater and a member of the Executive Council for the UCI Diabetes Center, where she is Chair of the Development Committee. She holds a Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of South Florida in Tampa.
