The Youth Collective is a group of young theater artists who have either participated in our Speak Up program or attended events at the theater. Most importantly, they are committed to building a more compassionate, connected and creative community.

This group is closely mentored by Chance teaching artists who are committed to providing them an opportunity to develop confidence, cooperation, problem-solving and leadership skills.  This program, which is completely free for its members, strives to provide a safe, nurturing environment of creativity, self-expression and community growth.

IMPROVISATION  WORKSHOP

Students will explore some of the core fundamentals and principles of improv, focusing on various games and exercises that encourage trust, communication, agreement (“yes and”); active listening, character, status, and making your scene partner look good.


AUDITION TECHNIQUES

Auditioning can be an intimidating experience even for the advanced actor.  This actor’s workshop is dedicated to demystifying the process, building confidence and putting the actor in control.  This session will cover a wide range of topics from exploring what directors are looking for, selecting the right monologues, techniques to help connect to the words on an emotionally honest and truthful level, to what to wear.
